Adedoyin Rhodes-Vivour, lawyer and arbitrator, a British Chevening Scholar is a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) with over 40 years’ experience in commercial law and arbitration. She holds a Practice Diploma in International Arbitration (Law Society of England/Wales and International Bar Association). She is a Notary Public of Nigeria called to the Nigerian Bar in 1981. Adedoyin holds the Certificate of Anatomy of Shipping from the Sea trade Academy, Cambridge, England (2008). Adedoyin is a CEDR (UK) Accredited Mediator. She is the Pioneer President of the Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria and has been involved in arbitrating commercial and maritime disputes since 1998. She took silk in 2019 (SAN). She was a member of the Court of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), The Hague, Netherlands. She is a member of the Court of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Court of Arbitration and member of the World Bank Group Sanctions Board. She is listed on various International Arbitration Panels including the ICDR (International division of American Arbitrators Association AAA), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC) and the Shenzhen International Arbitration Centre. Over the past 40 years she has developed extensive experience as a Commercial/Maritime Arbitrator. Adedoyin has frequently been appointed as Chair of the tribunal or as sole arbitrator as well as a panel member. Her expertise is recognized in various publications
including Expert Guides and Who’s Who Legal (Arbitration). She is described in Who’s Who ‘as an arbitrator grounded with outstanding ability and particularly noted for her expertise within the maritime and business law ‘and one who draws high praise for her considerable expertise acting as sole and presiding arbitrator in high value disputes’. She has written several articles on Arbitration/ADR and regularly delivers papers at international and domestic conferences and training events. She is an approved tutor for the CIArb. She is the author of the book titled: ‘Commercial Arbitration Law and Practice in Nigeria through the Cases’ Published by LexisNexis.

CHIEF BAYO OJO, SAN, CON, FCIARB, CHARTERED ARBITRATOR

Christopher Adebayo Ojo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1978 after graduating from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1977. He obtained LL.M from the London School of Economics, University of London in 1982 and later got admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
Since then he has been in active Commercial law, International Law, Litigation, Mediation, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice. He has acted as sole Arbitrator, member of arbitration panels, and as Counsel in numerous domestic and international arbitrations both at the International Chamber of Commerce Paris (ICC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment
Disputes Washington DC (ICSID), the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) over the last thirty five years involving complex oil and gas, investments, joint ventures, infrastructure,
concessions, public private partnerships, power, mining and commercial ventures. He has also acted as expert witness in international arbitrations. He
has mediated on several disputes as well.
He is a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, past President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), past Chairman of the Nigerian Legal Aid Council and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria Branch. Ojo was a member of the United Nations International Law Commission (ILC) Geneva Switzerland, Council member of the Section on Energy and Natural Resources Law of the International Bar Association, a member of
the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators, Washington, DC, a member of the Panel of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, Hague, Netherlands, Alternate Chairman of UNESCO Appeals Board in Paris, a member of the Board of Trustees of the
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators London, President of the African Users’ Council of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the President of the African Arbitration Association. He is an expert member of the Chinese International Commercial Court (CICC) and the Board of the Cairo Regional
Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA).
He is a Chartered Arbitrator, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) and the Institute of Construction Industry Arbitrators (ICIARB). He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and a patron of the Nigerian Society of International Law and the International Law Association, Nigerian Branch.
He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Journal of Arbitration and Mediation (NJAM) and African Journal of Arbitration and Mediation (AJAM). He is the coauthor of The Handbook of Arbitration and ADR Practice in Nigeria and a recipient of the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) for meritorious service to the nation. He has over the years spoken at many
workshops, seminars and delivered numerous public lectures both within and
outside Nigeria.

PROF. ADEWALE ADEDAMOLA OLAWOYIN SAN IS THE MANAGING PARTNER IN THE LAW FIRM OF OLAWOYIN & OLAWOYIN AND ALSO A PROFESSOR OF COMMERCIAL LAW IN THE FACULTY OF LAW, UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS. HE OBTAINED HIS BACHELOR OF LAWS DEGREE IN 1987 FROM OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY, ILE-IFE (FORMERLY UNIVERSITY OF IFE).
HE WAS CALLED TO THE NIGERIAN BAR IN 1988. HE ATTENDED THE LONDON SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS & POLITICAL SCIENCE (UNIVERSITY OF LONDON) WHERE HE OBTAINED HIS MASTER OF LAWS DEGREE WITH MERIT IN 1990. HE PROCEEDED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL AND OBTAINED A PH.D. IN 1995. HIS MAJOR AREA OF SPECIALIZATION IS COMPANY LAW AND ADMIRALTY LAW. HE ALSO HAS SPECIFIC INTEREST IN CORPORATE MANAGEMENT, SECURED CREDIT TRANSACTIONS AND GOVERNANCE ISSUES.

HE SITS ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF A NUMBER OF COMPANIES INCLUDING AND IS THE CHAIRMAN OF PAGE INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL SERVICES LIMITED. HE IS ALSO AN ACCOMPLISHED RESEARCHER WITH PUBLISHED WORKS IN INTERNATIONAL SERIALS SUCH AS THE JOURNAL OF AFRICAN LAW, THE JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL BANKING AND THE JOURNAL OF MARITIME LAW AND COMMERCE ON VARIOUS ASPECTS OF COMPANY LAW, CARRIAGE OF GOODS BY SEA AND ARBITRATION. HE WAS ELEVATED TO THE RANK OF SENIOR ADVOCATE OF NIGERIA IN 2014 AND IS A FELLOW OF BOTH THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ARBITRATORS (UK) AND THE INSTITUTE OF CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY ARBITRATORS.
